Update #1: Pinned Objects, Player Collissions and Others


Developers Notes:

9/27/2019

  • Objects to Pin


    • I've seen some feedback where players are having trouble with the sliding objects that the player is supposed to "pin down".  If done incorrectly, it's possible that the game object will never be in reach of the player, thus impassable.
    • This version of the game addresses and fixes this. The "pin-able" objects will now move up or down based on the player's X movement. This means that no matter where the player is in relation to the object, the object will always move up or down if the player moves at all - Though, the objects do have a clamp to prevent them from moving too far.
    • This will make the game much more forgiving (and hopefully more fun!)

  • Wall Collisions
    • There were some areas where player would get stuck on the wall. This has been addressed so the player slides smoothly up and down.

  • Title Screen
    • Updated "New Game" and "Continue" text.
    • Inserted game objects to make it feel more organic (windmill objects and plant moves).

  • Forest Dwellers (the little guys with leaves on their face)
    • Fixed so that they are only caught when player comes within a certain x and y distance.

  • Camera Position will is now fixed.
    • Sometimes the camera would be too high or too low upon selecting "Continue" from the title screen. This is now fixed.

  • New "Faint" animation!
  • New "Uzumaki Ito" animation! 
    • This is the swirly "string" that comes out of the player when fainted.



  • An additional puzzle is inserted in the first house room.
  • Trying out a new story structure. 
    • There are key items scattered about the land. Coming close to one of these objects will reveal one of the storyboard drawings (drawings are still rough sketches, but I actually may keep them like this since I like the "roughness" of it.)

Known Bugs Yet to be Addressed:

  • Sometimes player floats into the air for a moment instead of climbing onto a ledge. This is partially fixed (I put a check in to make sure the player doesn't fly off infinitely). This will happen about 8% of the time. Please bear with me while I isolate the issue.
